One of my door openers was acting erratically when trying to close the door, i.e., sometimes it would barely start down then go back up, sometimes it would get partially closed then go right back up, etc. David Kovach called as expected and said he was ahead of schedule. He asked if it was OK to arrive earlier than the appointment time. And it was ok with us. David quickly diagnosed the problem as being with one of the door safety sensors. And as he had a Liftmaster sensor kit on his truck, I requested that he go ahead and install it. David worked quickly and efficiently. He answered all my questions as he worked and was done in no time at all. The entire process went very well from my initial calls to set up an appointment through to the final installation. It was very nice to be able to talk to knowledgeable people. I have used Precision Garage Doors twice previously last year, once to replace a broken cable on the cable/chain assembly on one opener then next to install the bottom rubber weather strips on both doors. My good experience with Precision back then lead me to call them for the current issue I was experiencing. And I am happy that I did so. The only issue I had, and it was not until after David left, was as I reviewed the paid invoice I received via email, I noticed a $20 Energy Surcharge. Prior to signing/agreeing to the $129 charge, I asked David if the $65 Service Charge was deducted and he said that it was. I did not actually see a listing of the charges. I assumed the $129 was the cost of the sensor kit itself but later as I viewed the invoice, I saw that the cost for the kit is $109. Granted, I did not specifically ask what items comprised the $129 and I even had I done so and was aware of the Energy Charge, I would have still signed the authorization to do the work. My point is that in my opinion, Precision Garage Doors should direct the people at the call centers, in addition to pointing out the promotions, should also tell the caller about the $20 charge right up front. Also, the service technicians should tell the client that the price he is quoting includes a $20 Energy Charge. Again, I take responsibility for not asking specifically what the price includes. (I should note that when David handed me the IPAD to sign, he had told me the total charge is $129 and that the $65 Service Fee was deducted. But I did not see the itemized list that shows on the invoice. I only saw the signature page). I think more clarification of this should be considered. I give PGD a 5-Star rating based not only on this service call but also on the previous service calls they made to my house. The call center(s) are easy to reach and talk to a real person. The technicians are courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient at their jobs. The entire process is very easy with PGD and I will definitely use them again in the future. One last thing... in the questions below, I note that I purchased an opener. Not true, there was no option listed for the safety sensor kit thus I made the "opener" selection.

Called late Friday afternoon to schedule an appointment to have garage door opener replaced - was expecting to have a technician here maybe on Monday - was thrilled to get an apportionment for following day between 4-6. Even better when Cori was able to come several hours earlier. Cori did an outstanding job explaining all options and then doing a great job to have it installed in a little over one hour. Could not be more pleased with overall service!

Circumstances caused us to meet with two different technicians, Brian P. on the day before Thanksgiving, and Mike C. on the day after Thanksgiving. Our garage door opener died, thus illustrating the fact that things WILL BREAK right before, or on a holiday. Brian was unable to fix our problem because he was in a different truck and had already used the required part on the previous job; Mike came well prepared and was able to explain the break and the repair. Both technicians were professional and Mike was especially focused on following the Covid safety plan (good thing for us elderly people!) We purchased the new door opener, button transmitters and key pad. We chose you partly due to the 24 hr. service and BBB accreditation. We are very happy with the work, and will call you again if we need to do so! So, this is a five star rating!

My original quote for a new opener was $450 installed plus a $75 service fee. What's that, I asked. After some discussion, the woman said she would waive the fee! They arrived as promised and my first quote was $1,200 which included all new springs etc. I said goodbye.
